Last Thursday, on the 13th August, we were proud to be part of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce’s Engage and Explore event at The Circle, which brought together more than 90 people from across the city to explore how businesses and charities can work together to create social value.
The panel, hosted by Charlie Hedges from Sheffield Business Together, brought together Adam Battey from Sheffield Theatres, Holly Newton-Steele from Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity, Joasia Lesniak from St. Luke’s – Sheffield’s Hospice, and Voluntary Action Sheffield’s Director of Strategic Partnerships, Helen Steers.
One message came through clearly: good partnerships are built on relationships, not transactions. Meaningful collaboration can start with something as simple as an open conversation.
At VAS, connecting Sheffield businesses with the voluntary and community sector is at the heart of what we do. We help create opportunities for organisations to work together, share resources and strengthen the communities we all serve.
