Pride of Yorkshire at The Circle

This summer, South Yorkshire will be transformed by The Pride of Yorkshire, a spectacular new sculpture trail celebrating 150 years of Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Running from 8 June to 8 September 2026, this exciting initiative from Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity will create a free public art exhibition across Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster. The trail will bring together businesses, artists, schools and local communities through a stunning display of lion sculptures, all while raising vital funds for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

The trail will feature 150 lion and lioness sculptures alongside 150 lion cubs, each uniquely designed and decorated. Visitors will be able to follow the trail across the region, discovering incredible artwork and celebrating the creativity and community spirit that makes South Yorkshire so special.

We are delighted to share that The Circle Gallery is home to five of these magnificent lions, giving visitors an opportunity to see some of the sculptures up close as part of the wider trail.

The Pride of Yorkshire promises to be one of the region’s biggest cultural events of the year, and we encourage everyone to get involved, explore the trail and support the amazing work of Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
