‘For a Burning Love’ – exhibition launch by Sean Williams et al 10/11/2017 05.30 pm — The Circle ‘For a Burning Love’ is an exhibition that both celebrates and demonstrates the great breadth of contemporary painting. It encompasses highly-detailed realism and gestural abstraction, paintings that are almost sculptures and photographs interrupted by the introduction of paint. In this way ‘For a Burning Love’ questions what a painting might be and so, in turn, questions our fixed ideas about most things. There will also be a series of written interviews with the artists available on-line to accompany the exhibition. We hope that they offer an insight into the ideas, influences and processes of painters today. The participating artists are – Stephen Carley, Allie Carr, Nick Grindrod, Warren Hayes, David Jones, Rita Kaisen, Janie Moore, Mandy Payne, Stephen Todd, Kate Whateley, and Sean Williams The exhibition is on until the end of January 2018.
